Marie-Laure Ancedy (Laure) is the creator and director of the ‘BALANCE BY DESIGN’ brand.
BALANCE BY DESIGN Studios offer Yoga Pilates and the Gyrotonic® Method in Sydney and Mittagong NSW Australia.
With more than 25 years of teaching experience, Laure began her own journey as a Hatha Yoga enthusiast back in the 80s. She believes that to achieve maximum health and wellbeing, individuals need to include everything in their movement practice under the same roof: breathing, rehabilitation, functional movements, weight and resistance training, individualised injury recovery exercises, self-care and nurturing, concentration, coordination, balancing practices and Mindfulness.

To expand her ever increasing experience, since 2001 Laure continuously traveled overseas (before Covid-19) to remain up to date in the latest methods that she teaches. Laure is currently studying with Sarah Powers, which includes an in-depth understanding and practice of self-inquiry based on Buddhism and loving-kindness Meditation (Insight Yoga Teacher Training Intensive).
As an active member of both the Pilates and the GYROTONIC® communities.
She is a Level 4 senior member with the Australian Pilates Method Association, a member of Yoga Alliance International and an Authorised Pre-Trainer for GYROTONIC®.
With over 25 years of extensive training and teaching, Laure has finally created 6 online Mentorship Programs covering a wide range of wellness practices that are high impact, nurturing, practical as well as simple mindset and self-awareness practices to support each individual to achieve their health as top priority (See Mentorship Programs on this Website Menu Bar)
Marketa Krueger has been passionate about movement from a very young age.
At the age of 10, she was selected to a special school for athletes in the Czech Republic. She also loved dancing and aerobic classes. Migrated to Australia in 1996 and in 1999 became an Aerobic and Aqua Instructor.
In 2001 completed her first Pilates Mat qualification and in 2003 gained further knowledge in anatomy by completing a Diploma in Sport Massage Therapy and in the same year completed STOTT Pilates L-2.
Since 2005 works as a Pilates, Aerobic, Aqua Instructor and a Personal Trainer in the Southern Highlands and 2008 completed Certificate IV in Fitness Pilates (91313NSW).
After completing this course, decided to deepen her knowledge in rehabilitation in order to help people with injuries and has completed first year at Wollongong UNI in Anatomy, which she followed up by completing her Diploma in Professional Pilates Instruction (10537NAT) at Pilates International Training Centre (PITC).
Marketa approaches exercise as a method of healing, developed from her training as a massage therapist and building on the philosophy of the Pilates Method founder Joseph Pilates of using movement for rehabilitation.
Yoga Instructor, Naturopath and Bowen practitioner
Steven Harris is a Yoga Teacher and a Naturopath. He ‘accidently’ wandered into a Yoga class 30 years ago at Sydney University and has been fascinated and captivated by Yoga ever since. He has taught in the Southern Highlands for more than 20 years.
For over 21 years Steve has also utilised the Bowen Technique in his Naturopathic Practice.
Originally he studied The Bowen Technique as a safe and gentle form of body work to compliment his healing work. He is now continually amazed at the results from such a simple gentle therapy, which fits well with the Naturopathic Philosophy of treating the whole person.
Yoga teacher, LV Chair Yoga teacher, Meditation teacher and Holistic & life Coach
Suzanne Price is a certified 200hr Yoga teacher, LV Chair Yoga teacher, Meditation teacher and Holistic & life Coach. After spending 17 years as a safety professional in heavy industry, Suzanne Price decided to pivot her path in life and help others access the things that made her life flow – yoga, meditation and self-care.
She studied her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training at Body Mind Life in 2017 and continued her training in 2018 under Kat Clayton – Senior Yoga Teacher and Teacher Training Lead facilitator. In mid 2018 Suzanne completed a Certificate in Meditation Teaching & Holistic Human Development Meditation Teaching, Chair Yoga Instructions & Holistic Counselling) through the International Meditation Teachers and Therapists Association.
After researching and loving the concept of Chair Yoga, Suzanne completed 32hrs Teaching Chair Yoga: The Sitting Mountain Series. This training is all about adapting yoga poses from the mat to the chair or with assistance from and chair. It sparked her interest in bringing yoga to EVERY BODY – beginners, people with a disability, chronic illnesses and the elderly. She ensures her classes are suitable for all ages, abilities and flexibilities.
Suzanne is currently enrolled in 300hr Advanced Integrative Yoga Teacher training which she will be completing over the next year. She is will also be completing a Diploma in Face Yoga. Suzanne’s classes are flowing Vinyasa that can be modified to all abilities and flexibilities. She also offers classes in the foundations of yoga poses, concentrating on correct alignment and formation. She also offers Breath and meditation classes. Her yoga classes are flowing vinyasa and can be modified for all abilities and flexibilities.
